Sunday 30th September saw the ACGA return to Merrist Wood Court GC, Surrey for the annual match against PALS.

 

Once again the PALS boys showed some fight from the beginning and ACGA needed respond if they were to regain the Cup.  With excellent performance from Austin and Bose in match 2 the match hung in the balance and was all-square with another 3 matches out on the course.

 

Then the Antiguan Crew put in a strong performance on the 17th green to win their match 2 &1 so the ACGA went 2 – 1 up.  With ½ a point needed from the final two matches to retain the Annual Challenge Trophy - BUT the match was done!  PALS win!  The results of the final two matches speak for themselves and no much can be written.  Thankfully Russell did enough talking about his match in the bar to divert the attention for the ACGA pairs in the final 2 matches

 

So in its 6th year the ACGA vs PALS Annual Golf Challenge Trophy and it all square (see past results below).  I would like to say many thanks to ACGA members who made themselves available and PALS GS for being good sports.
