ACGA Major Friday 5th June Cannons Brook Golf Club Harlow,Essex,England,CM19 5BE 36 Hole Stableford Competition Situated in 112 acres of mature rolling countryside the 18 hole, 6769 yard, par 73 championship length course makes excellent use of the surrounding landscape and its numerous natural and man-made hazards and beautiful features. The course was designed by Sir Henry Cotton, whose philosophy was to create a championship length course with very little rough, but incorporating many bunkers and large undulating greens, a task he accomplished in style. The course was opened in 1966. A broad repertoire of shots are required to master the course, which demands that every golfer regardless of standard, is rewarded for thoughtful and skilful play rather than for power alone ACGA Major Friday 10th July Woodland Manor Golf Club West Kingsdown, Sevenoaks, Kent 36 Hole Stableford Competition K ent is well known for some of the finest golf courses in England-links or parkland. Woodlands Manor, near Otford, is one of the many beautiful parkland courses in the Kent. What sets it apart? What makes it a little bit more special than the other fine courses and clubs in the area?
Let's start with location. Woodlands Manor lies in the triangle formed by the M20, M25, and M26. Yet once you leave one of these motorways and you begin the short journey to Woodlands, you enter a different world. Or, to be more specific, you enter an official Area of Natural Beauty. Woodlands lies half way up a stunning valley on the North Downs. ACGA vs. Cypriot Golf Society Old Fold Manor GC Thursday 23rd July Ascot, Berkshire, England, SL5 8LT
18 Holes Pairs & 18 holes singles Competition Our superb heathland course has some of the finest and quickest greens in Hertfordshire, breathtaking views and is a challenge for all levels of golfer. That 6th fairway, 5th green and 2nd tee are now known as Sunset Fields, so called because of their magnificent evening skies. It is also where golf was played unofficially by the locals as far back as 1880. Unofficially because the land was owned by the Earl of Strafford, who lived at the nearby stately home known as Wrotham Park. He was the man who decided to build a proper golf course on what is a freakish "fold" of unproductive sand and gravel among the surrounding luxuriant clay. ACGA Major Friday 7th August Weald Park Golf Club Brentwood,Essex,England,CM14 5RJ
