2010 Singles Knockout Competition Rules

 

 

This year we would like the finals to be played whilst we still have good weather so the finalists can fully appreciate whichever course is selected.  Therefore, the dates for all singles round have been set over the following dates:
 

  • Qualifiers – Sat 24th April  – Lea Valley GC - Stroke play

  • Second Round – Saturday 26th June 2010 - Venue Weald Park GC

  • Quarter-Finals – July 2010  - Venue TBA

  • Semi-Finals – August 2010 - Venue TBA

  • Final – in September 2009 at Venue to be agreed with the Finalists


Qualifying Round - Rules

  • This is a Strokeplay competition based on the R&A Rules with full handicap allowances

  • Best 15 nett scores (count back will apply to tied scores) together with Winner of 2008 will go through to second round knock out stage.

 

Second Round Knock out – Rules (played in 4 balls)

  • Draw for the second round will be based on the R&A Rules in a Match Play format with the Winner from 2007 being place at 1st in the draw, then Best 15 nett scores (2nd to 16th).  Therefore 1st vs 16th; 2nd vs 15th; 3rd vs 14th and so on.

  • Handicaps will be full handicap difference.

  • Any player(s) who cannot attend on the above date MUST PLAY matches (having organised this themselves) by the date stated above

 

Quarter Finals (played in 4 BALLS) AND Semi Finals (played in 2 balls)

  • Draw for the Semi Final will be based on the R&A Rules in a Match Play format

  • Handicaps will be full handicap difference.

  • Any player(s) who cannot attend on the above date MUST PLAY matches (having organised this themselves) by the date stated above.

 

FINAL (played in 2 balls) - Rules

  • Final will be based on the R&A Rules in a Match Play format

  • Handicaps will be full handicap difference.

  • The Final will be arranged for the above date subject to the 2 players involved being available. Any players who cannot attend the Final once the date is agreed will forfeit their place and their opponent will be declared the winner.

  • The venue for the final will be approved and cost of the final is paid in full by the ACGA.

 

Use of DMD will be permitted in accordance will ACGA local rule.

 

Finally, handicaps applicable for the Singles competition will be those published by the ACGA at the time of each round.
