JACKIE HARBOR MAKES
HISTORY IN THE ACGA
Testosterone is a wonderful
thing but it can make you say some stupid things - ask Ty
Carter. "I'll eat my hat if Jacqui Harbour ever wins a
major."
On Friday 6th August 2010, at around 5.00pm, in her
afternoon round Jacqui carded a creditable 34pts. The 39pts
gained in the morning round gave Jacqui an overall score of
73 pts. As a result, Jacqui Harbour became the first female
in the history of the ACGA to win a major. In winning she
set a number of historic records which, will be a lasting
testament to her commitment and passion for the game of golf
and to the ACGA. From the standing ovation she received when
picking up her Trophy (and her money), it was clear that
members could not have been happier even if they had won
themselves. Her victory is testament that perseverance has
its rewards and brings acceptance. I'm sure Jacqui will be
happy to tell those members who have not yet won a Major
what if feels like to win. I also understand she is now
looking for a caddy to carry her bag at the 2011 Champion of
Champions. As for Ty, I think a bit of pepper sauce would
have made his meal a little more palatable.
