ACGA Social Media

The ACGA post Social Media content on Twitter and Instagram, as well as providing updates via the ACGA website. We also use SPOND as a means of organising golf and other related events. It is important that we create the right environment on all our forums, and set the right example that represents the values the ACGA wish to uphold.

  • Community rules

    Please do:

    Think before you post. Assume that what you post could be shared and read by anyone.

    Get involved in posts and have your say, we love to hear what you think!

    Feel free to spread the word and share our posts.

    Treat others with the respect with which you would like to be treated.

    Please don't:

    Post personal information - whether it's yours or someone else's, sharing any information publicly will be at your own risk.

    Advertise your own products or services via our forums without prior permission from the ACGA Committee.

    Swear or use threatening abusive language.

    Spam our social media profiles with the same message multiple times.

  • The ACGA will be using SPOND for event management (attendance confirmation, communication and payment). This will be the app of choice until otherwise notified.

    ACGA rules for using SPOND

    SPOND will be BOTH for members and guests with regards to event management.

    Event attendance

    Members will only be confirmed as attending an event through SPOND. The ACGA Whatsapp forum will not be used for official event communication unless deemed necessary by the Committee.

    Entering events is done via the ATTEND button under the event. Once an event has been enabled by the Committee. Please select DECLINE if you cannot attend the event.

    Messages and Comments.

    Please only use the Message or Comments to communicate specifically about the event in question. Press the “Send Message to Hosts” button, type your message and then press “send”. Alternatively type your comment in the “Comments” box and press the end icon.

    Messages will be seen only by the event Host (Organiser), as opposed to Comments which are seen by all the Members.

    Notifications will be sent to all Members following submission of a comment, which may need follow-up action by Members.

    Updates

    Please check SPOND frequently for event information and updates, just in case there have been relevant changes which require action from the Members.

    Polls

    Where a poll as been created such as to get member feedback on meal choices you will receive notification of the poll and you are required to respond and make your selection. If you are not happy with the options contact the host via SPOND using the “Send Message To Host” option.

    Messaging and Comment behaviour

    Please ensure any messages or comments are specific to the event in question, and no inappropriate comments / words are used. It is also important that all Members confirm EITHER WAY whether they are attending an event once it is live.
